Photonics
and optoelectronics cover the technology of fibre optic communications,
and the applications of lasers and optics in a broad range of
fields, from medicine to manufacturing, from basic research to
military technology.
The
University of New South Wales, one of Australia's leading universities,
is offering a range of postgraduate programs in photonics
and optoelectronics by course-work.
These
postgraduate programs can be taken on a full-time or part-time
basis. Many of the courses are also available via distance education.
The
courses are taught by lecturers from the School of Physics and
the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, providing
a healthy balance between the basic sciences and the engineering
technologies. In addition to the broad choice of theoretical courses,
the programs also include courses in the relevant laboratory techniques
and instrumentation in our well-equipped and modern laboratories.
These postgraduate programs are built on the cluster of excellent
research groups working within the University of New South Wales
specialising in photonics and optoelectronics.
